Confirmation

Confirmation

A two-year program of instruction in the basics of the Christian faith is offered to youth during junior high years, usually beginning in seventh grade. This weekly class covers the Ten Commandments, The Apostles’ Creed, the Lord’s Prayer and the sacraments of Baptism and Communion along with an overview of the Bible.

At the conclusion of instruction, students are given the opportunity to affirm their faith publicly before the congregation at a confirmation service, and be received as communing members of the congregation. Youth are welcome to receive communion following their confirmation vows.
