Wednesday evening, you are invited to come to Vespers at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. The service begins at 6:30 PM and is preceded by a Soup Supper which starts at 6 PM.
This year, as we meet for our mid-week service, we will be studying what some have called “The Scarlet Cord of Salvation.” The scarlet cord refers to the bloodline of Jesus going all the way back to Adam. We’ll stop and look at the lives of a few of the Old Testament saints in the line of Jesus to examine faith in light of the Gospel. The Old Testament is not just a group of stories that teach, they are one story that finds its climax in the death and resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
This week, we’ll start from the very beginning with Adam and his son, Seth. It would be helpful to read Genesis 1-5 this week as you prepare for worship.
We’ll be singing hymn #63 & #64, When I Survey the Wondrous Cross & In the Cross of Christ I Glory. You can click on the links to listen to the hymns.
